It’s Official: Facebook Is the Department of PreCrime
News has just broken about a freedom activist and former Marine named Brandon Raub, who was arrested (apparently without a warrant or being read his rights) on the evening of August 16th. Details are still coming in, but it appears that his “crime” was posting things that the overseers didn’t like on Facebook. Read more

There has been a severe drought hitting the Midwest that has laid waste to a large percentage of the country’s corn crop this year. The headline I read was “There ain’t been no gol-derned rainclouds up in that there sky for a coon’s age, there ain’t” so I can only assume this is the worst it has been in over 50 years. Aaaaaaand since we are now required by la to have at least 10% ethanol in our gasoline these days, this drought translates directly into higher prices at the pump. Read more

Bond prices are within stabbing distance of all-time record lows. Moreover, since bond prices are intimately tied to mortgage interest rates, they are making rates so low that they are off the chart, chain, hook, grid and wagon. Records only happen so often.
