Lemonade Stand Protest

You may or may not have heard on the news that police across the country are cracking down on junior entrepreneurs. These motivated young business people have been operating outside the law, on private property slinging lemonade from illegal stands.  Examples such as Abigail Krutsinger of Coralville Iowa and Julie Murphy of Oregon City, selling lemonade were both shutdown by police who were enforcing an ordinance to protect the health and safety of the public.

This symbolizes that there is little encouragement for kids to experience the up side of the American Dream without having to experience the downside of government regulation. It surely does not help that the capital cronyism is at play in terms that they want to force any road block possible to prevent any other players from getting into the market. This of course seems silly for the state to even bother with the lemonade stands at all.

The concern is that this is becoming a trend. Adam Kokesh (host of Adam vs The Man on RT), reported on a group of activists that went and setup a lemonade stand on the west lawn of the capitol in Washington, DC. This video displays how little respect people have for the government and its officials. Also it shows how abusive the police are towards observers, activists and the media covering the event. To top it off, the tourists get a sniff of the dirty laundry we are airing out regarding the lemonade stand crackdown through America and how the police treat the citizens.
